Multimedia Workshop in Peru [Teachers of Life]


We are currently looking for applicants to take part of our Multimedia workshop in Peru, [Teachers of Life]. The workshop consists of seminars on narrative structure, visual filmmaking, sound design, interviewing techniques, editing theory, and documentary ethics.


Teachers of Life: Trujillo is a narrative multimedia workshop where participants practice international documentary filmmaking around the theme of education.
This Work Shop will be held by our Staff, Videographer, Journalist and Photographer Cristobal Ortega, who has won awards through his work and has worked in different NGOs through his videography & photography.

The participants will have three weeks in Trujillo, Peru, to work with a local team of translators and produce a short documentary to be exhibited in Trujillo at a cultural center or gallery. Educate For is looking for candidates who seek to make documentary work internationally around the theme of education.
Each finished documentary will be published by Educate For with English, Spanish, and Japanese subtitles.

Teachers of Life Workshop will be held from the last week of July till the first two weeks of August.
Participants are required to arrive at Peru on the 26th (Friday) or 27th(Saturday) of July 2019, and will stay until the 17th of August.

It will be each participants responsibility to book their own flights but we will coordinate and connect each participant so that people can meet up and come together.

The fee for this workshop is $800 , or 2400 Peruvian Soles.
We ask participants to pay half of the amount via paypal and the other half in USD or in Peruvian Soles during arrival.

Included in participation fee: Accommodation, SIM Card, Pick Up to Airport, T-Shirt.
Not Included: Flight until Trujillo, Visa, Insurance (Travel Insurance is mandatory), Any Vaccinations, Food, Transportation
Food is roughly around $2-$5 if you desire to eat outside but many people buy at the supermarket and cook in the house.

3. Studying Journalism / Film Production / related subjects OR has been working with clients for two years
4. Portfolio Review of Photography OR Video
5. Decent English Level (Proficiency Score or determined by interview)
6. Passport
7. Unlocked cell phone to have SIM card in Trujillo
8. Sign waiver that videos produced can also be published by Educate For
